Jackie Bavaro serves as the NJ YMCA State Alliance's Manager of Metrics and State Initiatives.
She is responsible for supporting the director of Health Equity and State Initiatives in implementing statewide programs and growing relationships with key stakeholders. Jackie is in charge of providing Technical Assistance to the NJ SNAP-Ed program in cooperation with the New Jersey Department of Health; Coordinating with NJ DHS to support YMCA SNAP Navigator (formerly SNAP Outreach) services; coordinating additional Food Access efforts and programing including leading COVID-19 emergency food distribution; and the NJ YMCA State Alliance VISTA program.
She is also currently an adjunct instructor for the Department of Public Health at Montclair State University. She previously served as the Healthy Start Program Coordinator for Newark Community Health Centers and as Market Manager for the Greenwood Avenue Farmers Market at the Capital Area YMCA (formerly Trenton YMCA).
Jackie has a master’s degree in Public Health from Montclair State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics from the University of Delaware. She is also a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American Public Health Association and New Jersey Society for Public Health Education.
