Jonathan E. Drill, Esq. is a member of Stickel, Koenig, Sullivan & Drill, LLC., a Cedar Grove, New Jersey law firm engaged primarily in the practice of municipal law and land use and zoning law. Mr. Drill received an A.B. from Brown University in 1980 and his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1983. He served as Law Clerk to the Honorable David Landau, J.S.C. in Newark in 1983-84.

Mr. Drill’s practice includes representation of municipal land use boards and general municipal law practice, including but not limited to Mount Laurel / affordable housing matters, and issues arising out of the Highlands Act and the Right to Farm Act.

Mr. Drill currently represents a number of land use boards in northern and central New Jersey. He also serves as special counsel to various municipalities on an as-needed basis for affordable housing matters, appeals and land use issues.

Mr. Drill is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, New Jersey Planning Officials, and New Jersey League of Municipalities Legislative Committee. He is also a Trustee of the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys.

Mr. Drill is the author of numerous articles on land use and zoning matters and currently serves as co-author of Cox & Koenig, New Jersey Zoning and Land Use Administration (Gann), which is considered by some as the “bible” of publications for land use and zoning issues.

Mr. Drill has represented local government clients in numerous land use litigation matters in the Trial and Appellate Divisions of Superior Court, and in the New Jersey Supreme Court. He has also represented local government clients in a number of published cases.
