Gregory T. Hutchinson CTA
Greg Hutchinson is currently the Tax Assessor for Howell Township and the Borough of Fair Haven in the state of New Jersey. Greg has been in the assessing field for over 15 years, and is currently very active in many professional organizations. He is presently the only IAAO rep for the State of New Jersey, on the Executive Board of the NRAAO (Northeastern Regional chapter of IAAO) he is the Immediate Past President of the New Jersey Chapter of the IAAO, and is the immediate past president for Monmouth county assessor’s association (MCAA). Between his two Municipalities, Greg is responsible for annually reassessing over 26,000 properties that range from commercial, industrial, residential, to farmland and everything in between. Greg started his assessing career in Westmoreland County Pennsylvania shortly after graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University in Geography Land Use with a certificate in GIS. During his time working for Westmoreland County he earned his CPE (Certified Public Evaluator). After 2 years of working there, he moved on to Asbury Park NJ to be an assistant to the assessor where he worked on getting his certification in New Jersey, known as the CTA (certified tax assessor). After leaving Asbury Park he had a short stint in Middletown Township Assessor’s office as the Deputy assessor. Greg was then hired by Howell Township, where he has been working as the Assessor for over 12 years. When Greg isn’t working in the Assessing world he is very active in his children’s lives. He has been volunteering for years in the Boy Scouts of America as his son’s troop Scoutmaster. Greg also spends a lot of free time coaching his daughter’s flag football team in the fall, and her softball team in the spring. If Greg has any free time left after family and work, he enjoys spending it watching sports or traveling with his wife.
