Prior to joining Rural Development, she was the Director of the Small Business Development Center funded by the US Small Business Administration, the State of New Jersey and Warren County Community College. This Center served Warren, Sussex and Morris Counties. It is through this employment that she connected with USDA Rural Development to find help for farmers, businesses, and downtowns looking for financial assistance unique to rural areas.
Jan has worked in financial services and business consulting for over 30 years. Her career in financial services began with Prudential, Newark, NJ where she was employed as a Director, Investment Services, leaving this position to focus on family. During this time, she also consulted for First Hope Bank and volunteered her time to local community and business organizations including downtown revitalization efforts and chambers of commerce. Each of these experiences lead her to the position she holds today as Area Director, USDA Rural Development.
