Mary Campbell Cruz has over 15 years of experience in New Jersey politics and government. Her experience, strategic plans, thoughtful execution and contacts has made her one of the most respected professionals in the state. Mary currently serves as Chief of Staff for Congressman Donald Norcross where she manages both the Washington DC and New Jersey offices.
Mary has served in numerous political and government roles. She served as District Director to Congressman Donald Norcross, Political Director for 1199SEIU New Jersey where she was a fierce advocate for working families, healthcare workers and women’s rights in managing 1199SEIU’s legislative and public advocacy and Executive Director of the Nursing Home Alliance, a labor management partnership.
Mary has also served in a number of other senior roles in campaigns and government including Field Director for Jim Whelan’s 2007 Senate campaign and John Adler’s 2008 congressional
campaign and as Congressman Adler’s Senior Advisor and District Director. Mary’s earlier career accomplishments also included a number of successful local campaigns and initiatives while serving as the field representative for the Democratic National Committee’s 50-State Strategy Program. Including managing campaigns in a number of local special elections. During her time with the DNC she worked alongside then party vice-chair, Mayor Dana Redd, to help start the NJ Democratic State Committee’s Step-Up program, aimed at training and inspiring women to run for office.
Mary graduated from Washington College with a major in International Relations and Economics with a focus on Latin American politics, which included studies in both Ecuador and Tanzania. She lives in Marlton New Jersey with her husband her two children Maddie and Braden.
